Amazon Web Services announce 1,000 tech jobs
This week, Amazon delivered some great news to the European and Irish workforce. Amazon Web Services (AWS), which has just opened a new Irish headquarters in Dublin, offer data storage and cloud services.
AWS has indicated that all of these roles to be filled over the next two years.

The new Amazon building, which is a renovation of their existing Ballsbridge site, has space for up to 1,400 employees. At this week’s launch, Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar Tweeted, “Opening a new @Amazon building in Dublin and announcing 1,000 new jobs with @AWScloud across the city. A real testament to our ability to attract top tech talent”.
Mike Beary, Country Manager of AWS Ireland, said, “There is an abundance of talent in Ireland which helped us to exceed our talent growth targets ahead of schedule. Ireland is a great place to do business, the country’s creative culture and diverse pool of technical skills make it an ideal location for our rapidly expanding business.”
According to a press release from Amazon Ireland, there is an extensive list of employees they will be looking for. “The new roles currently include Software Development Engineers, Network Development Engineers, Data Centre Engineers, Support Engineers, Solutions Architects, Systems Engineers, Optical Deployment Engineers, Security Specialists, Big Data Specialists, DevOps Engineers, and a range of technical management positions for both Amazon and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The new jobs reflect Amazon’s growing investments in the country as a centre of excellence for software engineering, research, and customer services.”
