Don’t Focus On Negative Criticism – Professional Success

When you get negative feedback at work, do you obsess over it? It turns out that it’s in our nature to overlook positive feedback and focus on the negative. Research conducted by the Harvard Business School, found that the negative effect of a setback at work, had twice the impact on a person’s happiness than the positive effect. Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed by negative thoughts!
Try and use constructive criticism practically. Take the feedback on board – and then move on. If you find yourself going back over the criticism, take a few minutes to remember a particular moment of success that you had. Remember how it felt at the time, and let yourself feel proud and happy. This will undermine the power of your negative thoughts.  Watch our video for more tips on professional success!
