My Time is Now – Darragh Browne Testimonial

Our latest testimonial has arrived. Meet Darragh Browne, a Code Institute graduate who has kept in touch with us over the years. Those of you who have followed Darragh’s story will know that he’s transitioned from deli to developer.

Darragh joined Code Institute in 2015 and since then his career has grown from strength to strength. He had spent a couple of months attending college after finishing school, however, the course was not for him. The content and teaching method did not work for him. He started to work in his local deli after that, which he enjoyed in the short term, but he knew it wasn’t for him in the longer term. “As it is with any of these jobs, after a while it becomes a bit repetitive. There’s no real light at the end of the tunnel.”

“I just kind-of went for it”

Darragh’s journey was about to take a u-turn. “I found out about Code Institute through a friend of mine. Then, I took a look at their website and I liked the course.  I just kind-of went for it.”

Darragh’s move was daunting, but within months he had transformed into a coder. “It was tough.” Through the projects, “you get to have these small wins throughout the course. They were hard-earned and they were tough. You had to really commit to it, but it was worth every minute.”

Actavo quickly hired Darragh where he worked on apps and software. He now works for Intercom, one of the fastest growing tech communications companies in the world, with offices in Dublin, San Francisco and Chicago.
“If I didn’t have any of the experience that I gained through the Code Institute course, I would never have gotten into Intercom.”

Having Darragh as a student, and now as a graduate, was and is an honour for Code Institute. He took a step into the most in-demand industry in the world.  He is benefitting from his commitment and our course. His progress truly delights us.
