What you’ll learn on our Skills Bootcamp
Prepare for a career in the digital workforce by learning in-demand tech skills.
By joining the 16-week Skills Bootcamp, learners will develop comprehensive skills in full-stack web development.
The program focuses on agile methodologies, MVC frameworks, and modern technologies. Participants learn to design data models, implement features, manage data, and ensure security with authorisation and authentication.
They also gain expertise in testing, version control, and cloud deployment, acquiring a solid understanding of object-based software concepts for web development careers.
We have built an incredible Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure that our programme offers education in the best way. We have also created our analytics system that monitors student progress. This system alerts our teams if a student struggles in a particular area. It allows us to help with human support.
Learners will complete three collaborative hackathon challenges and a summative final capstone project whilst on the programme, thus creating a body of work that can be shown to prospective employers and support their future employment opportunities. Code Institute has an empathetic student care team that guides you to the finish line, but along that journey, a community made up of thousands of students and graduates are helping you too. Our students and alumni work together and speak to each other daily. We use our Discord channels to allow our community to stay in touch with each other and regularly hold events. Here’s a summary of all the support options you will receive:

Steps to become a student
Step 1
Register your interest with us
Submit your information using the buttons on this page to register your interest. You will receive follow up instructions and be enrolled on our Free 5 Step Coding Challenge.
Step 2
Complete the coding challenge
In order to become a successful candidate, you must complete our free 5 Step Coding Challenge. This ensures that this is the right career path for you. When you register interest, you will be sent login details to begin the challenge.
Step 3
Complete the admissions process
Upon challenge completion, you will be invited to a careers consultation call with an Education Advisor and be asked to submit a CV and cover letter.
Step 4
Approval for our course
Congratulations! Once your application has been approved by our Admissions team, you will receive a training offer letter.
Eligibility
What are the entry requirements?
100% Funded by the UK Government. Skills Bootcamps are full-time 16-week programmes that help to bridge the tech skills gap in England. To be approved, learners must;
- Must be currently unemployed or able to commit to a full-time 16-week training programme
- Must have the right to work in the UK and be over the age of 19
- Must be living in the WMCA region and willing to secure employment within the WMCA region
- Evidence of English language ability equivalent to IELTS academic level 6.0 if not a native speaker
- Must not have taken part in another Skills Bootcamp programme within the current financial year (April 2024 – current date)
- Have been ordinarily a resident in the UK or British Overseas Territories or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous 3 years on the first day of learning. Exceptions apply, please direct your query to Code Institute’s admissions team after registering your interest
- Learners cannot be in full-time education if they wish to attend a Skills Bootcamp, as it is a full-time programme that requires commitment
- Learners must commit to securing employment within six months of completing the training

This is the responsibility of the applicant; You must check this information with your social welfare office.
You are required to be available from 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri, for the entire duration of the course. If you are actively searching for a full time job, this course may not be suitable for you.
The skills learnt on this course will not only open up a wide range of job opportunities, but also compliment any existing skills that translate across all industries. Here are some examples of the technical job roles you can expect to be suitable for:

Most laptop computers are perfect for this programme. A good measure is, if you have no problem completing the Free 5 Step Coding Challenge – then you should be fine. However, we recommend that the device has at least 4Gb RAM – 8Gb RAM is even better.
