About Flexible Skills Programme
The Flexible Skills Programme is a Welsh Government initiative that provides financial support to Welsh organisations to develop employees digital skills. It provides a up to 75% financial contribution towards the training costs for employers developing data analytics and AI leadership capability.
- Application forms are short and processed within 10 working days.
- Companies can submit multiple applications throughout the year up to the value of £50,000.
- Confirmation of the funding approval must be received prior to the course commencement
- Funding is available to employers operating in the vast majority of industries across Wales.
- To be eligible, your business must be based in Wales, be financially solvent and commit to releasing staff to complete the training.

Everything you need to know before you register.
This course is designed for business leaders, owner-managers, and operational professionals who are responsible for AI outcomes in their organisation but haven’t had structured, hands-on training to deliver them. You don’t need a technical background or prior AI experience. If you manage people, budgets, or business processes, this course is built for you.
60+ contact hours over 10 weeks. Structured as half-day and full-day workshops, concluding with a 3-day proof of concept sprint.
None — designed for leaders and managers. Access to a paid AI workspace tool (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Google Gemini) is required (we can help you choose and provision before enrolment). This is to ensure the privacy of your organisation’s data and ensure that any IP created remains with your organisation following the completion of the course.
Most laptop computers are perfect for this programme. However, we recommend that the device has at least 4Gb RAM – 8Gb RAM is even better.
Your assessment is completely practical and tied directly to your own business. It takes the form of a practical portfolio made up of 4 evidence pieces.
