Challenges of learning to code

Author:

Many people think that the challenges of learning to code are too severe to start trying. Are you one of them? Coding has many challenges, but anyone can learn it if you put in the time and dedication. With that said, there are some common challenges when you first start out learning to code. Let’s take a look at them.

Where to start?

The first challenge you will encounter is where to start? There are so many languages out there, and for some, it won’t be easy to choose. According to Stackoverflow, some of the most in-demand languages are HTMLJavaScript and Python

Learning these languages will give you a great basis for working with any coding challenge. Such languages will also give you excellent career opportunities in the Nordics.

Coding takes patience

Learning to code takes patience. It is not a walk in the park, as you will experience complex problem solving along the way. Coding is about understanding the process you are making through your program. However, if you manage to give it time, the mechanics will open up for you, and you will experience a world of endless possibilities.

Where to get help?

Another common challenge students of coding usually vocalize is “I don’t know where to find help with a problem”. While this is a valid concern to have, it is often stated by people who do not put in the effort and have the patience. A quick Google search will solve most problems. Furthermore, you might be thinking about taking a bootcamp like Code Institute’s, and the tutors, mentors and student care will help you understand any problem you might encounter.

I do not have the time to code

As stated before, coding takes patience, so an issue might be you don’t have the time to get fully into it. Don’t rush into coding if the time is not right. If you rush into it without having the patience to take on the task fully, you will encounter a stressful learning process.

Overcome the challenges of learning to code

Learning to code with Code Institute’s bootcamp gives you access to the course for 12 months. This programme gives you the freedom to structure your learning process over a year. Furthermore, the student care team will help you set up a study schedule that fits your exact situation, giving you the opportunities to study when it suits you.
