Why we created our Virtual Class

Code Institute has always been passionate about bringing coding skills to students around the globe. So it’s appropriate that the world’s fastest growing tech education company has devised a high-tech solution to meet student demands. Meet our virtual classroom.
We’re proud of creating Europe’s only university credit-rated coding bootcamps. And now we’ve taken the next logical step – creating a virtual classroom.
Using cutting edge technology, Code Institute will bring you to live, interactive, world-renowned classes from anywhere. No other education companies are offering virtual classes of this calbre.
We did this for a number of reasons. Firstly, as a reaction to student demand. Secondly, to bring our classes to more students. And thirdly, to facilitate more learning styles.
Student Demand
This is full-time or part-time course for students who can’t make it to the classroom but want live interaction with a mentor.
Virtual students still receive the same high-quality, university credit-rated education. The virtual class offers real-time lectures, a mentor available full-time and the opportunity for interactive learning.
Capitalising on Tech
We’ve never been shy about using new tech, and the virtual class is a good chance for using innovative education tools to benefit our students. Students are able to share their virtual environments. This means interacting with other students online, helping with one another’s projects, networking and problem-solving.
The same technology allows lecturers to screen-share with students so they can work together in real time.
Best of Both Worlds
While we’re thrilled to be bringing our class to the virtual world, we believe it’s important to maintain our principles and learning methodologies. That means that our virtual students will enjoy the same teaching methods and course material that our in-class and online students enjoy. Coding languages will still be regularly examined and reviewed so we always teach what’s industry-relevant. Students will be taught (and expected) to problem-solve, and portfolio work is still an integral part of the course.
Times for the virtual classes will be in GMT, with more timeslots to come soon. Mentors will be available full-time.
The virtual classes will begin with a part-time course starting on September 26th, and a full-time course kicking off on October 2nd. For more information, including course content, financing and certification, click here.
