Funding Options

We have 2 funding streams available in Wales:

Personal Learning Account: A Personal Learning Account (PLA) helps with the costs of undertaking higher education in partnership with recognised Welsh colleges and training providers. Training is part-time and leads to regulated qualifications.
Bootcamps for Unemployed: Bootcamps for Unemployed: Our fully-funded bootcamps are run in association with partner colleges and funded via the Welsh Government. Skills bootcamps convey skills for employment through full-time training in 16 weeks or less. Training is generally for unemployed Welsh residents. Graduates receive a certificate of completion.

Eligibility

PLA: Eligibility is dependent on a number of criteria. At a minimum, you must be living in Wales, aged 19+ and looking to gain qualifications with in demand skills. You can view the full criteria here.
Bootcamps: To be eligible for our Welsh bootcamps you must be aged 18+ and be a resident in Wales with a right to live and work in the UK and: Be unemployed; Be available for full time learning of 35 hours per week for the duration of the programme (up to 16 weeks); You can view the full criteria here.

Over the age of 18

You are only entitled to receive a Personal Learning Account if you are the age of 19 or above, on the first day of the course.

Proof of residency

There is certain national and residency status’ that must be met. For more information, please visit the UK Gov site for PLA funding and here for the Bootcamps for Unemployed.

Proficiency in English

Written and spoken English at a minimum IELTS level 6 or equivalent. Our course is taught in English. This is a mandatory requirement.

Dedication and commitment

To complete this programme within 52 weeks, you will be required to dedicate a minimum of 12-15 hours per week on the coursework.

Build a portfolio of evidence

One-to-one, personalised career support

**Module 1**
**User Centric Frontend**
Design a Frontend web application based on the principles of user experience design, accessibility and responsivity using HTML and CSS. This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to build a Frontend web application. It includes understanding the principles of responsive design, documentation and effective layout of content.

**Module 2**
**Interactive Frontend**
You will learn how to build a dynamic, interactive Frontend web application. This includes understanding user input and control when interacting with a web application. It also includes understanding the principles of manual testing for debugging.

**Module 3**
**Data Centric Development**
You will develop knowledge and skills needed to build a Back End web application. Topics covered include data storage and data management using relational and non-relational databases.

**Module** 4
**Full Stack Frameworks with Django**
This unit teaches you how to the use of frameworks; APIs; automated testing; persistent storage; user authentication and e-commerce functionality to complete a web application build.

The qualification is awarded based on the assessment of a portfolio of evidence. This consists of 4 milestone projects which align with the 4 course modules.

You will be assigned a personal mentor who works in the tech sector to guide the development of your projects. They will be your sounding board for your ideas and provide advise on the direction you take with each project.

Each of these projects becomes part of your portfolio of evidence. This is a way to showcase your practical skills and competencies to employers.

The careers team will provide additional support on how best to present your portfolio and your technical skills to future employers.

The Career Hub Module is delivered by Code Institute’s Career Services Team. These are recruitment experts with extensive experience. They’re invested in your success and focused on giving you the industry insights, professional presentation skills and access to hiring partners that will get you hired.
