There is plenty of resources available online that let you upskill for free, that can help your career. Whether it’s learning a new language, learning some basic code, or brushing up on your marketing skills, now is an opportunity to do it. 1. Learn software development

The digital skills gap is growing all the time, and companies around the world are looking for software developers. It is a global skill and a universal language that is needed everywhere. Code Institute offers a free course that teaches the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. By the end of five days, you’ll have gained enough skill to create your first webpage. 

2. Learn a new language

Technology is growing, and with it, every business has the power to become global. This is where learning a new language can come in very handy. It will show your clients that you’re willing to go the extra mile. In business, it’s a great sign of respect to show that you’re eager to try to talk to your customers in their native tongue. Sure, you may not be fluent, but when it comes to showing respect, a little goes a long way. 3. Hubspot Academy

Hubspot is an excellent resource for businesses. It’s one of the best CRM (Customer Relations Management) tools available. The great news is, they have a series of free courses in their Hubspot Academy. In here, you can find classes on marketing software, sales, content, social media, and more. 

4. Enhance your social media skills

I think by now, we’re all a bit social media savvy, and if anything, we’ve possibly learned even more over the last year. However, how’s your social media skills for business? Constant Contact, a marketing company based in California, offers some great 101s on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more. 

5. Check your digital savviness

The Digital Marketing Institute offers many paid-for courses for students around the globe, but one thing that they provide for free is their Digital Diagnostic Challenge. This 15-minute challenge is very cool, and it will let you know just how savvy you are at marketing. If anything, it’ll show you if you need to brush on these skills.
